VA Officers Receive Valuable Publication Development Training The Newsletter Factory President Tondra Hughes recently presented three, two-hour seminars on ways to increase readership of both print and electronic publications at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) 2004 Office of Public Affairs National Training Conference, held in New Orleans, Louisiana, August 3-4. Hughes taught more than 75 conference attendees important tips and tricks on how to create newsletters that get results.

“Newsletters are a critical communication tool for managing internal messaging, as well as organizing volunteer efforts,” Hughes said. “When properly constructed, newsletters can significantly boost top-of-mind awareness for non-profit organizations. Public affairs officers from the VA’s three administrations (Veteran’s Health Administration, Veteran’s Benefits Administration and National Cemetery Administration) sought training provided by The Newsletter Factory in order to increase their newsletters’ effectiveness.
